Nox Archaist Kickstarter Campaign Now Underway

You’ll recall, perhaps, that 6502 Workshop brought Nox Archaist to Kickstarter a couple of years ago. That campaign was ultimately unsuccessful, but it was cancelled with the promise that it would be rebooted in the future.

And so it has been! As of this morning, a new Kickstarter campaign for Nox Archaist has been launched, to crowdfund the production of a limited run of boxed copies of the game (and the various feelies that will be included therein). That’s really an important point to draw out: the eventual release of Nox Archaist doesn’t depend on the success or failure of this crowdfunding campaign; 6502 Workshop will release the game regardless, and in fact have already been showing an alpha version around to a few select people. The Kickstarter campaign is solely about producing boxed copies of the game, and the feelies (manual, cloth map, etc.) to be included therein.

This sort of stuff, essentially:

The minimum spend for a reward is $10 USD, and for that you’ll get a digital copy of the game, the map, the manuals, and the soundtrack. Stepping up to $59 USD will get you into the physical reward tiers, and at higher tiers the rewards expand to include things like naming items or designing locations in the game.

And despite having launched just this morning, the campaign has already exceeded its goal of $8,500 USD; at the time of this writing, it has raised $13,972 USD. Fortunately, 6502 Workshop had a few stretch goals in mind, which they have already revealed:

Thanks for the wonderful post! We just passed $24,000 in pledges and have added another stretch goal, for a physical artwork piece by Ultima artist Denis Loubet!

I’m honestly floored by how quickly you hit the goal, and the success you’re enjoying since. Congratulations!

Thanks! I was confident we were going to hit the goal and probably a few stretch goals by the end of the campaign but I was also floored by it all happening on day 1. Thanks for your help spreading the word!
