Check Out SimGamer’s Re-Creation of “Ultima 4” Using “RPG Maker MZ”
SimGamer is a YouTube streamer who — as the name implies — does “Let’s Plays” of various simulation games, and the occasional RPG as well. Some time ago, he took it upon himself to rebuild Ultima 4 using RPG Maker MZ, the latest version of Gotcha Gotcha Games‘ long-in-production game development toolkit. Based on the title screen, he’s chosen to name his version of the game Ultima: Avatar.

This is available now. But looks like you need to buy RPG Maker. Which is kinda pricey.

How is this different from the NES port of Ultima IV? Looks like the same thing basically.
Different engine, mainly. In theory, more easily portable to other platforms as well.
