Titans of Ether: September and October 2011 Update

It’s been a little while since last we heard from the Titans of Ether, but Direhaggis posted an update to their website last week, detailing (as usual) the progress that has been made on the long-in-development (but still much-anticipated) Morrowind-based Ultima 9 remake.

Direhaggis evidently got married a few days ago, for which congratulations are in order. Apart from his nuptials, he has been pondering making further cuts to the main plot of the game, weighing his desire to tell a heavily interwoven, lengthy story against the reality that the project has been going on for quite some time now, and he would at some point like to be able to release something to the fans.

Other team members have been working on script tweaking, New Magincia interiors, buildings in Vesper, 3D model creation, and even some “secret” content. We’ve seen a few of these “refinement”-focused updates, which I am taking as a good sign and an indicator that the project is nearing completion. At least, that’s my hope.

Good news, but let’s hope it’s not suffering the same fate as my TES3 mod which was too many assets to create in not enough time. Getting the engine properly working with some examples would be a good first release.
