Return to the Serpent Isle: October Update

Team Return have posted their latest update, detailing the progress made this month on their ambitious new Ultima adventure. As has been the case in previous months, much of their news concerns “under the hood” progress, including a new harvesting system that supports regrowth of certain resources (e.g. fruit on trees) over time. Work progresses on worldbuilding as well; I’ve been busily building a village area over the last week or so, and have even managed to make its analog on the overland map look…very similar.

NPC dialogue writing has also begun in earnest, with some NPCs clocking in at multiple thousands of words in their conversation trees!

Finally, and as per usual, the team has need of yet more members, including (and especially) worldbuilders and 3D artists. I can say from firsthand experience that it is actually really darn fun to use the Neverwinter Nights 2 toolset to build areas with, and would encourage anyone interested in giving it a shot to contact myself or Sergorn Dragon via the contact form here or at the Ultima Return site. I’ll provide training!

Do thou likewise, Dragons and Dragonettes, if you have some free time and some talent with 3D modeling!

Minus the hordes of peasants fleeing in fear from yet another volcano, yes.

Not that I was ever a cruel overlord. No, not at all.
