Eldiron Engine: Pre-Release Version 0.7 Now Available

Markus “Moody” Moenig has, after a bit more of a delay than he had anticipated, published the first public pre-release build of Eldiron, his Rust-based cross-platform RPG engine that draws heavily on the earlier Ultima games for inspiration.

Dear Internet.

I am sorry for the long delay. Eldiron was way much more work as expected, especially due to the internal multi-player design.

I have now released v0.70, an official pre-release with missing features. But it is supported and future versions will be backwards compatible.

You can download it for Windows and macOS here on GitHub Releases.

Linux binaries will be added soon!

Thanks so much for your support and as always you can contact me directly on Discord for support or questions.

Upwards and onwards!

As noted above, you can grab the version 0.7 release of Eldiron from the project’s GitHub page. At some point, you’ll also be able to find the engine via Steam, although as yet it has not been released there. Project updates can also be obtained — more quickly than are published here — on the Elridon Discord server.

And if you’d like to support further development on Eldiron, Moody has both a Patreon page and a GitHub Sponsors page.
