Eldiron Engine Development Update: Public Pre-Release Soon

I haven’t checked in on the Eldiron game engine for a while, but developer Markus Moenig has been hard at work on it over the last few months. He recently posted a short development update to the project’s website, in which the possibility of a public pre-release build is teased:

Development Update

All is going well and I hope to provide a public pre-release within the next 1-2 months. The core components are done, now it is mostly about fleshing out the node and scripting systems which make up the gameplay (which is quite fun).

What I am working on

Many components need some more attention, like the integrated code editor for example, there are of course bugs and the UI need some more work, however it is all coming together nicely at the moment.

You can continue to follow Eldiron’s development at its GitHub repository. If you’ve downloaded the engine and want to start dabbling with it, Markus has also prepared what he calls “the book” — a helpful and detailed online wiki explaining how to use every facet of the engine.
