The Dark Unknown: Introduction Splash Screens, Many New NPCs, and Post-Demo Bugfixes

It’s been a while since we’ve checked in with Goldenflame Dragon’s Ultima-inspired project, The Dark Unknown, but it shouldn’t surprise those of you familiar with the project — and with Goldenflame’s pace of work — that there have been a number of updates on the game’s development since April…beginning with new splash screens for the (reworked) introductory sequence:

Also, several more NPCs now have dialogue:

And then, after a short hiatus/vacation, Goldenflame turned his attention to sound issues and other bugfixes:

And to NPCs, as well:

For his aforementioned vacation, Goldenflame went to the Festival of the Silver Serpent. Whilst there, he demonstrated an early build of The Dark Unknown for other guests at the Festival…and was thus able to collect their feedback about issues and bugs:

Now, right at the end of May, Goldenflame underwent some minor surgery. However, he was able to bounce back from it rather quickly…at least enough that he felt up to coding soon thereafter:

Also, because there will be a few feelies for The Dark Unknown, Goldenflame was excited to announce earlier this month that he had received a proof of the printed version of the game’s Almanac (read: manual):

Most recently, work on The Dark Unknown has focused on — what else? – NPCs:

As always, you are encouraged to follow The Dark Unknown’s Facebook page for the latest updates about Goldenflame’s development progress.

Didn’t realize this project was a Kickstarter as well. Goldenflame Dragon certainly keeps the updates coming fast and furious. Really eager to see the final product. I wonder whether it will be tweakable/moddable in any way, as being able to tell tales in that level of game would be great.
