Shroud of the Avatar – Update of the Avatar #335 and #336
Greetings, Friends! As usual, it is time for our biweekly update on Shroud of the Avatar. Looks like there are June Rewards this month, so I am going to assume they are moving to doing regular monthly login rewards. This month it is 250,000 Adventuring XP and an Obsidian Potion of Guidance. For the other news we have the following:

Second Shroud of the Avatar Book Almost Ready
In a twitch live-stream, Richard Garriott mentioned that Book Two of the ones being written by Tracy Hickman is close to being completed. From what it sounds like, the dev team is reviewing it along with the Publisher. Hopefully they team proofs it well this time, so that we do not get a repeat of what happened with Blade of the Avatar book. Backers are still waiting for that book. Here is a youtube video of it, the book is discussed around the 44 minute mark.
Castle and Keep Homes for Sale in Crown Store
In the Crown Store, Portalarium announced they are now offering homes that are larger than City size for the first time. The first of these new homes which will be available for purchase is the Castle Sized – Giant Pirate Galleon Home. For now there is a Dry-dock and Water version of this gigantic ship, which they say has 7 decks. I will put a few photos here below.
For the “Lords for the Isle” bundles (Episode 2 Bundle), they have a castle home too, which is a mansion. Here are the images the devs provided.
I expect we will see new Keep and Castle size homes in upcoming update posts from the devs at Portalarium in upcoming weeks.
It’s difficult to believe they’d sink time and money into book 2 when there are more important things needing attention. Are they thinking book sales will be enough to fund advertising and development of Episode 2?
Really? It’s difficult to believe, at this point, that they’d focus on side content than on expanding the main game?
You’re right. At this point I should absolutely believe.
So bizarre. I love it how LB is excited about book two and one of the guys is all like, “Yeah, I can’t wait to get to the end of the story.” And LB is all like, “Yeah bro, there’s actually, like, 3 books.” Then there’s an awkward silence as probably no one has read the book or believes the product will last that long.
Anyway, I don’t know if it’s news worthy or not, but I was checking out Nuvie and apparently they, or something is continuing to work on it in github, but there’s no official news releases on the site in some time. I would love to get a status report. I think the Worlds of Ultima games are playable now.
I’ll have to touch base with Eric about just where things are at with Nuvie. He definitely has been working on it, but he almost never lets slip any news about his progress.
I recently played Nuvie, and it seems really polished now. A status update here on the codex would be well deserved.
yeah i need to get around to Nuvie. Maybe I will putz with it on stream sometime and do a little review and then put that up on the codex here. So many games, so little time… ♥
