Beautiful Britannia 2011 R3 Comparison Screenshots

Firstknight sent me a bacth of screenshots comparing the textures and scenery from the latest Beautiful Britannia release to the original textures and scenery from a vanilla installation of Ultima 9. One of the complaints that some of you have made, when looking at other screenshots he has provided, is that without the original textures to make a comparison against, it is hard to gauge the scope of the change.

As such…here you go! Gauge away!

And remember: these are from an incomplete version of Beautiful Britannia. The final version will add, I’m told, dozens (if not over a hundred) more textures and thousands of additional scenery objects.

If you haven’t done so yet, head on over to the project entry and grab the latest download. You will see Britannia in a whole new way, I assure you!

    Definitly impressive!

I’ve tried the latest release, and it worked better than the previous one… perhaps because it’s been farther since my last play of U9 😛

I’m still ambivalent with the grass and roads (and there’s a tad too many plants for my taste at times heh), but the way caves look is really awesome though!

This is gorgeous! Especially the castle, nicely done!

I feel that one mistake was to remove the haze in some. I remember the mist being an important part, but it’s been replaced by a crispness that goes back as far as the eye can see.

I’ve already came to the conclusion, that I’ve placed too many objects in an around Yew, at least more varity is needed. I will try too fix this in later releases.

And of course it’s possible to play BB with the original foggy EXE, same goes for playing original U9 with the fogless U9BB.EXE

So I wish a happy new year to everyone. Oh, and I will provide an update within the next week, so stay tuned, friends.
