My wife just got back from her doctor’s appointment this morning with a glowing report, so I can now tell you all: this young Dragon and his Dragoness are expecting another wee Dragonlet. If all goes well and no complications arise, little Dragonlet #1 should have a little brother or sister by about mid-November.
Well, no, let me correct myself. She already does have a little brother or sister (we’re not going to find out which). But by mid-November, she’ll be able to kiss the baby proper, instead of Mommy’s tummy. Though to be fair, it’s pretty cute to see the baby vicariously, by way of kissing the Dragoness’ stomach.
It’s also cute when she tries to offer the baby a sip of her water. Just saying.

As a two time father my self, I remember the pregnancy time to be somehow extra ordinary and special.
“Let the little children come to me,
and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”
It is a very special time, I agree.
Not so sure about the bad omen part…we had plenty of congratulations when we announced Ella’s imminence, and she turned out just spectacularly.
Though perhaps I take your point, given how often my wife and I find ourselves simply overwhelmed by Ella’s quick learning abilities and seemingly endless energy.
