Inspired by Ultima: Sosaria in Minecraft
Phillip Zibilich has created a massive map of what he calls Sosaria — Britannia, basically — in Minecraft. It is based on the heightmap of the continent from Ultima Online, with a few corrections here and there to adjust for the limitations of the Minecraft engine.
You can grab a download at the newly-created project entry for it, or from the Ultima Dragons Facebook group if you’re a member.
The map has been tested with “Vanilla” Minecraft 1.3 through the current 1.7 Snapshots. Things like Horses and New Flowers/Grasses from 1.6 and 1.7 spawn correctly.
Also tested with various 1.4.x and 1.5.x Feed The Beast mod-pack. New terrain features such as volcanoes and rubber trees will also spawn in.
