Thanks to Canadian sci-fi author Cory Doctorow, I finally rediscovered an old map of the original plan for Ultima Online’s game world, which included all four continents from the first Ultima game.
Kevin Fishburne’s Ultima-inspired online game, Sanctimonia, doesn’t have much in the way of news to report; the developer is just trying to work through a handful of issues he is having with the new version of GAMBAS, the language Sanctimonia is being built with.
Back to Roots, another Ultima-inspired (and Ultima-compatible) game engine project, posted a couple of updates early on in March, which I had missed noticing until just now.
NorwegianRockCat, from the xu4 development team, has released a trailer for the (currently iPad-only) iOS port of xu4, the cross-platform Ultima 4 engine.
