“Ultima VII Revisited”: Now With Rotation
Anthony Salter has released another update for Ultima VII Revisted, the major feature of which — if the accompanying video (embedded below) is any indication — seems to be the addition (or enhancement?) of a rotating camera:

Object rotation is still a work in progress, it would seem, but the ability to rotate the camera in a freeform way to see the world of Ultima 7 from other angles is an exciting prospect. The game, as originally implemented, often made use of the gimmick of hiding objects behind walls, using the angle of assets to leave one or two pixels of a key lever or item poking out. Being able to look at things from a different angle would certainly help alleviate some of the frustration that attended trying to spot these objects.
As always, you can grab the latest build of Ultima VII Revisted from Anthony’s website, or from the project entry here at the Codex.
Thank you for continuing to cover my project!
