“Ultima VII Revisited”: Version 0.0.2 Released (Updated)
After an exciting few posts on X (here’s one of the more tantalizing ones) concerning recent developments made in Ultima VII Revisited, Anthony Salter announced on the UDIC Facebook Group that he has published an update for the project:
Okay! The new 0.0.2 version of Ultima VII: Revisited has been released so you can all play it for yourselves! You can download it here: https://u7revisited.com/downloads/
To run this program, you will need to copy the contents of your original DOS ULTIMA7 folder to /data/u7. This will allow the replacement engine to read in the maps and graphics from the original files.
Controls:
WASD: Move around.
Q/E: Rotate left and right.
Mousewheel: Zoom in/Zoom out.
To teleport to a location, left-click there in the minimap.
Press ESC to exit.
FEEDBACK IS WELCOME BOY HOWDY IS IT WELCOME! The best way to give feedback is to send it to my email address at [redacted] and put “Revisited” in the subject line.
Have fun, and Rule Britannia.
Seriously: check out this short clip of the project in action:
The downloads page at the project website also includes instructions on how to set up the Geist engine, which is needed to play U7 Revisited; Anthony’s email address can also be found there in case you have any feedback to send his way.
The First Age of Update: And just like that, Anthony has multi-level buildings implemented.
Thank you very much for covering my project!
How could I not? It’s amazing!
