The Ultima 7 German Translation: Additional Font Fixes
Sir John has made a few additional adjustments to his alternative font for Ultima 7: The Black Gate. You may recall that he released this alternate font alongside his German translation patch for the game; it supports some of the characters important to the German language a bit better than the default font does.
You can find the alternative font available for download at Sir John’s website, or at the Ultima 7 translation’s project entry here at the Codex.
Hi 🙂
thx for letting everybody know about the font update. Just two things I’d like to add / mention / clarify:
– all posts on ungesundes-halbwissen.de are available in English as well. As I translate my posts there having the Codex in mind, please feel free to link to it 😉 e.g. https://ungesundes-halbwissen.de/wp/fixed-long-dialogues-reworked-fonts-available/
– The modern font available before this update (either on my site or on the Exult page) has a line spacing too big for several purchase options to display in U7 AND SI. This is true not only for German, but ALSO for English. So if anyone used the modern font to play U7 or SI in English will not have been able to use all purchase options when buying stuff e.g. from Standarr. So I’d recommend the newly fixed version for everyone wanting to play either game with the modern font. 🙂
Thanks again!
Sir John
Didn’t realize you posted English text as well. Or, rather, didn’t realize you were doing it separately; you used to append translations at the end of articles.
Good to know!
True, for quite a while I didn’t find the time to test a translation plugin and get it to work and hence appended my translations. But for quite some time now, I have an according plugin up and running and translated most of my posts….this includes older posts as well 🙂 I made some changes to the config, so hopefully, you will see the English translations right away from now on.
Once again: Thx for posting about my projects. Much appreciated 🙂
