The Dark Unknown: NPC Schedules and a New Development Diary

Goldenflame Dragon’s Ultima-inspired game, The Dark Unknown, was another project that unfortunately fell off of the Codex’s radar in the latter half of 2018. And while I’d love to go back and recap all of his development work for the latter half of last year, there is not nearly enough time left in the day for me to do so. As such, in an effort to begin the year anew (and to then stay on top of Goldenflame’s good work, here’s what has transpired with The Dark Unknown since the start of 2019.

As you can see, his main focus has been implementing NPC schedules in a pair of towns, and it would appear that he has nearly completed work in both places. Additionally, Goldenflame has also released a new development diary entry, which details some of his design decisions in creating the magic system for The Dark Unknown.

So, here’s a project that’s off to a good start for the year! And here’s hoping I can keep on top of all the news that The Dark Unknown generates as the year progresses; as you can see, Goldenflame posts quite frequent development updates. And if you want to get those right from the source, you can — and should! — Like and follow The Dark Unknown on Facebook.
