Let’s Also All Congratulate Joe Garrity; He Received A Royal Warrant from Lord British
Joe Garrity of the Origin Museum received an ONBE from Lord British earlier this year. During the recent Cyber Monday 2014 12-Hour Telethon held by Portalarium to celebrate Shroud of the Avatar’s Steam Early Access release and recent crowdfunding success, Joe was also awarded a Royal Warrant, which is how Richard Garriott and Portalarium have been recognizing “outstanding community organizations, businesses, and groups”.
There’s a bit of an award that attends being granted Royal Warrant status:
The appointment includes the issuing of a plaque, which can be placed in the player’s house.
As a physical reward, players who are part of a group who earn a Royal Warrant will be sent an actual plaque to match their in-game reward.
Congratulations to Joe; this is richly-deserved recognition for all of his many efforts over the years to preserve the physical history of Ultima and, more broadly, Origin Systems.
I’m happy to see so many deserving community members getting the recognition they deserve.
Congrats, Joe. It would seem cutting your hair has not robbed you of your strength.
His name is Joe, not Samson.
