If you’re at all curious about the horrifying cataclysm that befell the world of New Britannia prior to the story of Shroud of the Avatar, this latest Pen of the Avatar session is worth a watch:

For about the first half of the session, Portalarium concept artist Stephen Daniele (joined by Scott “Lum the Mad” Jennings) walks us through the creation of an animated storyboard that shows two of New Britannia’s moons impacting. Horrible devastation is wrought upon the land, and only the shattered shell of one moon remains in the sky, attended by the rocky remnants of its former sibling.

The latter half of the session focuses on the magic sigil.
