Ultima Forever: Worldwide Release Delayed

Well, it would appear that the global release of Ultima Forever won’t take place in July, as originally planned. The latest update to the Ultima Forever Facebook page and forums, the wide release of Quest for the Avatar has been delayed a few weeks:

We realize that you all are anxiously awaiting the world-wide launch of the iOS version of Ultima Forever, and believe us when we tell you that we’re just as excited and eager as the lot of you!

That said, we need to prevail upon your mastery of the real-life Virtue, Patience, just a little while longer.

Our world-wide launch has been pushed back a handful of weeks, due to the need to spend a little more time tuning the economy and wrangling performance across all devices. The delay, as inconvenient and bothersome as it is, may actually prove to be somewhat providential, as we’re now also able to continue fine-tuning various game mechanics, and incorporate some of the feedback that has been obtained during our soft launch. Our development team has actively been listening to the feedback that has come our way, and are implementing certain changes into the game that are a direct result of that feedback!

We appreciate everyone’s continued patience and understanding.

So, for now, the game will continue to be available only in Canada, Korea, the Netherlands, Sweden, and possibly New Zealand. The rest of the world will have to wait a bit longer, unfortunately. On the other hand, it’s nice to see an Ultima not being rushed out the door in a state that the developers aren’t wholly satisfied with yet!
