All the Ultima 4 Dungeons…Mapped!
Yes, yes, it’s not as though maps of the dungeons for Ultima 4 didn’t exist prior to this. However, from Andrew Schultz and blogger 8BitCity (who may be one and the same; I do not know…), comes this rather excellent collage of all the maps:
As 8BitCity describes it:
An elegant and compact set of all the dungeons in Ultima IV: Quest of the Avatar. Ultima 4 is probably the most imitated game of all time, and pretty much every RPG since has been a failed attempt at mimicking the greatness of Ultima 4.

Interesting that they’re 8×8. I remember Ultima IV straight up busted my balls exploring the dungeons. I almost beat it save them. Ultima V and later VI really maximized the awesomeness of dungeons, but Ultima IV set the tone.
That’s probably because Ultima IV had some infinite loops in the levels. They seem bigger when you are playing.
Good call… I can’t remember if I knew that back then, but I didn’t just now. Good idea, really. Wrap-around dungeons for small maps both confuse and help people who wander.
