Return to the Serpent Isle: February Update

Okay, granted, it is the last day of the month. Even so, Sergorn Dragon has posted another monthly update for Team Return.

The biggest part of the news is, of course, another mention of the release of the Ultima Game System, now available on the IGN Neverwinter Vault as the Ultima Return Unified System.

And Team Return’s talented coder isn’t stopping there. Next up is a Journal System, to overwrite the default one in Neverwinter Nights 2.

On the writing front, Kat has returned to the team, and NPC writing is proceeding apace. On the worldbuilding front, I’ve begun laying down designs for dungeons, and expect to begin implementing those in the game proper in short order.

And as usual: Team Return needs more people, especially a good 3D artist. Extra worldbuilders would also be a major boon, especially as we race to release the game’s prologue.

Interested? Let the team know!

Nice teasing you put there :O

I hope that the Ultima Game System will also feature sitting/lying down and moving around objects some day…

Sitting and lying down might theorically be possible – the waypoint systems allows for it to be done by NPCs, so this could possibly be implemented to PCs.

Don’t except any form of moving items around though – the engine don’t support this and in truth I can’t think of many RPG 3D engines that allows this except Ultima IX, Arx Fatalis and Oblivion.
