Didst thou catch the lunar eclipse last night?

If not, have a gander:

I had to stand outside in -30 C to get this shot!

Obviously, it’s the moon, partway through the eclipse. I really wish I had a better zoom lens than an 85 mm, but…c’est la vie, I suppose. (This is a cropped version of another shot.)

Longest, darkest night of the year, you say? Imagine how that would have looked in Ultima 6. Better just to Rest for 9 hours. Let Dupre stand watch. Sentri has no food.

Unfortunately, in northern New Brunswick, we’re getting the biggest storm surges we’ve had in over 30 years with massive coastal flooding. Not a lot of eclipse to be seen during that foolishness. 😛

Missed the last third of the total eclipse proportion (where the eclipse ends) due to the freak cloud cover. Seriously, it was like magic how fast it become completely overcast. It was totally crisp, clear skies for the several hours leading up to that point.

Lovely clear sky for star gazing.

  3. In all honesty, I figured we’d miss out on it in Edmonton; I could see clouds outside my living room window, and figured the Moon would be totally covered.

As it turns out, the clouds were a bit on the thin side, so I got a decent glimpse of at least the onset of the eclipse. Unfortunately, I was simply too tired to stay up for the entirety of the event.

Pity about the weather, Dungy…that sucks. And about the sudden clouds, Iceblade, although at least two thirds of an eclipse is better than no thirds.
