Titans of Ether: September Update

Direhaggis has posted the latest update to the Redemption website. Therein, team member Spyder encourages everyone to register for the project’s forum, wherein they will find all manner of little bits of bonus content and “behind the scenes” glimpses at work that is going into the game. Work on scripting is progressing, armour models have been completed, Britain interiors are still under development, cutscenes for Buccaneer’s Den are nearing completion, and work on NPCs and tutorials is progressing.

This is good; we can see that the project is well into its finishing stages, and I for one am looking forward to trying out the hopefully inevitable demo, whenever that gets announced and released. (Because there will be a demo…right, guys?)

Additionally, the team is again looking for people to help out: they are in need of a 3D artist and another worldbuilder.

  1. I read most of the news from 2004 on for the project, which I remember following long ago when working on my own doomed mod for Morrowind. Anyone know where to find the news for 2007 – 2009? The archive stops at 2006 and the “News” section starts at January 2010.

Also, I seem to remember a TES3 project that decided to migrate to TES4 and thought it was this one. Anyone know which project that was?

Finally, I noticed the ToE site prominently links to my old TES3 mod site, now defunct, and was touched with sadness upon seeing it. If anyone from ToE is reading this feel free to remove the dead link, and thanks for the attention you brought to it while it was alive. Amazingly I still have the old web site archived on my server here.

Next big project after Archon ? Or Return to the Serpent Isle will come earlier ? 🙂

Anybody’s guess. Return is moving along, though I have some stuff to take care of as regards hak paks for that project, and we may wind up releasing some things (our tech demo, a chapter or two) before Redemption gets finished.

I would in general expect that the release version of Redemption will arrive before the last chapter of Return (and in fact, I hope so), however.
