New Gallery: Ultima Remakes in PC Games magazine

Courtesy of Dominus (whom most of you should know from Exult and Pentagram), Ultima Aiera is pleased to present five scanned pages from a recent edition of PC Games, a German magazine devoted to PC gaming. The article contained therein, and available for download as a PDF below the gallery, is focused on four high-profile Ultima remakes that will all be known to readers of this site: Exult, Ultima V: Lazarus, Ultima IX: Redemption, and the Ultima 6 Project. Special attention is paid to U6P, with a full three pages devoted thereto.

The article is in German; if anyone wants to volunteer to translate them, I’m sure many Ultima fans — not just myself — would be much obliged.

Looks very professional. Can’t wait to see the translation. It’s always good to see Ultima getting some mainstream love.

  2. Sergorn says:

Now let’s make Return big enough to get mainstream attention too 😛

German is my native language, and I’m on vacation right now.
=> I hereby volunteer to translate the articles!

What format should I use for the translation? (raw text, Word document, etc.)
Is there some way of “overlaying” the translation on top of the scans?
That way, the context wouldn’t be lost.

      A Word document would work.

Once you get me the translations, I’ll try to insert the text overtop of the German text in the images directly (though you should probably include some notes on where the page, section, and column breaks occur with your translations).

Dungy, PC Games is an established magazine in Germany, they are publishing at least since the mid ’90s. I stopped buying it around ’99 but thankfully a friend still regulary buys it or I would have missed the article 🙂
Just replying to the professional part of your post 🙂

More publicity could do us good. If EA gets the message that Ultima’s are still going strong, we might be getting remakes(it’s all the fashion lately).
