Spoony Plays Ultima: Runes of Virtue 2 (Part 2)
After the last, rather disturbing entry in this series, I must admit that I haven’t yet motivated myself to watch this latest episode of The Spoony Experiment. In it, however, it’s reasonable to assume that Spoony continues his campaign to denigrate Runes of Virtue 2 for all its many flaws.
And according to this discussion thread on the Ultima Dragons Facebook page, he apparently corrects himself somewhat, and even discusses the original Runes of Virtue (which was released for GameBoy, rather than for Super Nintendo).
Watch it, it’s better than the first part. One of his best videos overall in a long time, actually. Spoony is getting back into form.
His videos are entertaining, but I have also had some concern for Spoony when watching his videos. He gets really worked up. Some do this to act out characters to get more views on YouTube (Francis, PewPewDie, etc) but I get the impression with Spoony that these are his genuine reactions. Every game he plays is LITERALLY THE WORST EVER. The Ultima reviews in particular, you can see he takes this stuff personally. He really does feel personally betrayed on a deep, personal level.
I felt that way with Ultima IX when it came out, but I don’t still carry that with me. All this stress can’t be helpful or healthy for a person.
