There was a fair bit of news about Cryptic Studios’ upcoming user-made content-friendly MMORPG Neverwinter over the last week, including a lengthy interview with MMORPG.com, and another one with GameInformer. The latter interview is interesting for the detail it provides about how the game, which will evidently be free-to-play, will implement and handle microtransactions.

The wizard character class also got a fair bit of attention.

And while it’s not really an RPG, it’s worth noting that Dreamfall Chapters was announced last week, to the excitement of many. The much-anticipated conclusion to the The Longest Journey trilogy can’t get here soon enough. Not, mind you, that I’m saying it should be rushed out the door. Dreamfall Chapters will also be coming to Kickstarter, apparently, at some point in the near future. One wonders if it will smash Project Eternity’s record?

And the state of Rhode Island is suing several former 38 Studios executives, Curt Schilling among them, for having failed to inform the Economic Development Corporation board that the studio’s own internal projections suggested it was destined to fail. Schilling, of course, criticized the suit as a political stunt and denied wrongdoing in the collapse of the studio.

In happier news, Torchlight 2 continues to sound awesome. And Epic Mickey 2’s demo is now available via Xbox Live.

Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition has a tentative release date of November 28th now, across all targeted platforms. Producer Trent Oster does offer the caveat that the mobile versions of the game are dependent on approval in their respective app stores, and so might not quite hit that mark. The PC version, however, should.

Good, he should be sued for not paying back his debts, at that level. The debtor has an obligation to pay back the debtee. Simple as that.

Then again, if Schilling is broke, it’ll take quite some time for him to pay that loan back.

I saw your Dreamfall article last week. Extremely exciting news. The Longest Journey games are possibly the best straight Adventure games I’ve played. It’ll definitely be good to see what happened after the cliff-hanger of all cliff-hangers.
