xu4 Quietly Updated
I previously made mention that the xu4 developers had released a new snapshot they were terming “beta4”. Since that time, as Petrell has brought to my attention, they have also quietly pushed an actual “Windows beta4” download to their SourceForge portal.
You can grab it from there, and I’ve also taken the liberty of adding it to the project entry here.
The project’s snapshots for both Windows and Mac OS X have also been updated recently.
Nah, you confused it. There was no beta4 snapshot, that was the same as the beta4 release 😉
BUT anyone really interested should download the actual snapshot, not that beta4 since things got fixed since then. OS X snapshot provided by yours truly 😉

Actually, I think what happened is that Darren mentioned that the latest snapshot was being treated as beta4; I was unaware that he was also pushing out a titled release.
Odkin: you can think of beta4 as the latest “official” release from the project, and the newer snapshots as newer-but-not-necessarily-stable “test” releases.
I really like this project but it seemed like the version I played from 1/25/2011 was buggy….
I’m confused. The Sourceforge page just has the Beta4 that Dominus says not to bother with. What’s the right link for the newest file?
Get the “xu4 snapshot for Windows” from the download page. It’s pretty good.
Anyone else have any trouble getting any sound in Vista?
