“Video Games: The People, Games, and Companies – Part II” Successfully Crowdfunded

The English-language translation of the second volume of Andrea Contato’s Video Games: The People, Games, and Companies series has wrapped up its crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter:

We did it! €18,766 with 248 backers, and since yesterday, we’ve already gained one more. Yes, because Kickstarter now enables the so-called “late pledges,” which allows anyone who arrives late to this page to still support the campaign, as long as I don’t close everything and begin shipments.

This brings me a little surprise: we didn’t reach the fourth stretch goal of €22,000, but considering the late pledges, I’ve decided to lower it to €20,000. If we reach this new stretch goal, everyone who will receive a physical copy of the book will also get the patch featuring Video Games logo!
Exciting, right?

I will start sending out the first digital rewards as soon as this update is complete: the Steam keys for Sumerian Game to the few who haven’t yet received them, and the download links for the ebooks of Through the Moongate and Video Games Stage 1.

Andrea is using Dropbox to distribute media this time around; if you backed the book, be sure to watch for a Dropbox link hitting your email (if it hasn’t arrived already). Steam keys are, I believe, arriving via Kickstarter messages.
