“Ultimax” Is Now “Minstrel – Book One: Fire”; New Soundtrack Piece Released
The developers of Ultimax have announced the new title for their game…which — if you’ve been following said game’s development for a while — you’ll note hearkens back to its original title. The game formerly known as Ultimax, itself formerly known as The Minstrel’s Fable, will now be known as Minstrel.
We’ve decided on a new name for the game. It’s Minstrel. Some of you might remember when Ultimax was called “The Minstrel’s Fable”. Well, we are switching back to that name, but shortening it to just “Minstrel”. We like that it’s simple, AND the domain name for minstrel1.com is available. This story will be a trilogy, so minstrel2.com and minstrel3.com is also available! It also goes nicely with the music we’ve obtained from Ebunny and the “tavern” scene that Tony Foti painted for us (there’s a woman bard in the painting, playing a flute).
Minstrel 1 is subtitled “Book One: Fire”. Minstrel 2 and 3 will subtitled “Book Two: Ice” and “Book Three: Mithril”, respectively. The prologue story (which hasn’t been fully exposed on the site yet – you can only read part of it so far) details how The Glass Sword was torn into three parts and displaced never to be found (or reassembled) again. The parts are: Fire, Ice, and Mithril. 😀

And there’s a shiny new logo for the game as well, which can be seen above. The team have also released a new sample of the game’s soundtrack, which can be found on their Media page (scroll to the bottom and look for Old Castle).
