Ultima Online: 23rd Anniversary Livestream & Major Announcement Today
Broadsword Online Games are hosting a special livestream event today, to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of Ultima Online’s launch, and to finally reveal the “major announcement” they’ve been teasing all year, the one that will bring UO to “the largest audience ever”.
The stream begins at 1:00 PM Eastern Time, or in about 50 minutes as of this writing.

I’m afraid not. Well, having never played UO, I thought I might give it a try so I could relate better to UO veterans, but this doesn’t make me want to play. I did sign up for the newsletter, and we’ll see what happens.
It strikes me as an attempt to cash in on the same sort of nostalgia that drove demand for “WoW Classic”. Except there was palpable demand for that one.
Hmm, the map is of Britannia and everyone starts at level 1. I can’t think of a better time for someone brand new to start the game.

Is this correct? There are estimated over 300k subscriptions? How is that possible? How much does a subscription cost?
