Shroud of the Avatar – Update of the Avatar #343 and #344

Greetings Friends!  Welcome to the biweekly Update of the Avatar from those of us here at Ultima Codex.  As new in regards to Shroud of the Avatar has been light for a while now. I am considering moving to a monthly update or maybe even longer time period down the road for this reason. Please give me your thoughts below on this.  As I endeavor to always give you at least some news this week, we have the following:

  • Crown Shop Updates
  • Dev Stream Vids

Crown Shop Updates

As with so many games, microtransaction stores that use premium currency from in game (Crowns in the case of SotA) and cash, or just cash are being updated regularly. As has been the case with Shroud of the Avatar, there continues to be new items making their way to drive revenue to keep the game going. We have the following new items that stood out to me:

  • Empty Land Row Home: Row Lots come with a free default home that blocks access to the ground that it is built on. This Empty Land Row Home allows a Row Lot to be free of any structure, so that decorations may be placed on bare ground. This opens up the lot for agriculture, gardens, parties, and other uses previously unavailable unless you upgraded to a village lot or higher.
  • New Paintings
  • Mannequins:  Guard and Combat styles

Combat Mannequins Guard Mannequins

Dev Stream Vids

As always, the regular streams that the devs, like Chris, do are available afterwards on the Portalarium YouTube channel. Here are some of their recent streams.

When I decided to step away from SotA, I started using Ultima Codex as my primary news source for SotA related things because an update every two weeks was enough. It’s been a while now, and the burn from the tens of thousands I spent is fading. An update once a month or even less often is fine with me.

yeah for me it has been nice to spend so much time away from the game and community and just do the news updates here on the codex. With there being less and less notable news though on the weekly basis, I would hate to bore people with updates that feel flat or uninteresting. I do hope to complete other Ultima related stuff down the road though. ♥

  2. I mostly only have interest in this game out of morbid curiosity anymore. I get why it’s noteworthy here, and would hate to see no updates, but I won’t miss them if they slow down.
