The Space Bards Are Crowdfunding The Second Recap Band Album, Pronoia, On Kickstarter
Recap Band — you may also remember them as the Space Bards, who created that wacky The Return of Lord British tune back when Shroud of the Avatar was first announced — have launched a Kickstarter campaign to crowdfund production of their second album, Pronoia:
We’re back!
It’s been over 2 years since our last album, “Neon Milk”, was successfully kickstarted, and we officially became “Recap”. In the time since, we’ve grown in countless ways both as artists and as people.
We’re incredibly excited to have the opportunity to show you just how far we’ve come, and want to thank each and every one of you for your love and support as we went through all the growing pains of bringing this unique band to life.
Their first album, Neon Milk, was Kickstarted successfully back in November of 2013; it was an electronica/rap concept piece that told the story of a pair of aliens stranded on Earth.
Will this album be anything like Neon Milk?
Our next full-length album is as diverse sound-wise, if not more so than “Neon Milk” was, and has all the juicy Recap elements you’d come to expect! While our debut album focused very much on high-concept and direct story-telling, with “Pronoia” we really want to bring things more down-to-Earth (so to speak) and get much closer to our emotional core of who we are as people. We think you’ll find that “Pronoia” will feel much more relatable and genuine. A nice side-effect is that you will also be able to show it to your family and friends without getting strange looks. 😉
Unlike the obvious themes and concepts of “Neon Milk”, Pronoia’s themes and sequential story are more abstract, internal, and subtle. Happy hunting!
Recap have set a Kickstarter goal of $5,000 USD, which as of this writing they have very nearly reached. Pledging $10 USD will get you a digital download of the album; signed physical copies (on CD) are available from $25 USD.
