Cran Gallara decided, a little while back, that the Ultima Dragons needed a new, colour-coded beard scheme to better identify the duration of their membership:

This could change the face of the UDIC as we know it. Something we’ve long been needing, since we have such a range of ages now. For a long time it’s been that an old UDIC member is a greybeard, and a really old member is a whitebeard. But how old is old? Since many of us are 15-20 years already, I suggest the new age for a greybeard is 10. We needed a few more colors though.

So I present to you Gallara’s proposed New Bearding System!

Age 0-1 – No beard.
1 – Blondbeard. You’re new. Cue unfunny blond jokes.
2 – Greenbeard. Still green. As in greenhorn.
3 – Camouflagebeard. Starting to get the hang of things, but you still blend in.
4 – Purplebeard. For some reason, you get undue attention from Dr. Cat.
5 – Bluebeard. You could be a pirate…
6 – Yellowbeard. Nobody calls me yella’!
7 – Orangebeard. Showing some color.
8 – Redbeard. You could join the Society for Creative Arachnids.
9 – Brownbeard. A proper beard is finally coming in.
10 – Greybeard. You’ve earned it! Inklings of wisdom at last.
11 – Pinkbeard. Growing up so fast has given you motion sickness. Have some Pepto.
12 – Tealbeard. Breezy as Britanny Bay.
13 – Magentabeard. Completing the EGA color scheme.
14 – Indigobeard. Inspired by your favorite Girls. You know, if they had beards.
15 – Whitebeard. Elder status! Your beard is a little longer these days…
16 – Blackbeard. You swear you had some treasure lying around somewhere.
17 – Zebrabeard. Really earning your stripes.
18 – Copperbeard. You’re starting to acquire a nice patina.
19 – Bronzebeard. You’ve been around so long you have your beard bronzed.
20 – Plaidbeard. You’ve gone to plaid!
21 – Platinumbeard. You are rare and precious. And shiny.
22 – Titaniumbeard. You are so old you’re tough as nails. Tougher than nails!
23 – Tri-lithiumbeard. You’ve grown so powerful you can fuel spaceships.
24 – Blackrockbeard. Only magic can affect you.
25 – Silverbeard. Your Silver Anniversary! Congratulations!
26+ – Rainbowbeard. You’ve earned ALL the colors!
Gold – There is only one Gold Beard, to be presented to Gold Dragon.

She even drew up a few sketches of each beard in turn. And about once a week, she also posts updates to the Ultima Dragons Facebook group congratulating Dragons on their membership anniversaries — Dragonversaries, as it were.
