Well, that didn’t take long. Launched yesterday, IronOak Games’ For The King has already reached (and exceeded!) its fundraising goal — $40,000 CAD — on Kickstarter.

The team haven’t yet posted an update about that (it’s still early), but they did already have a couple of stretch goals lined up:

One hopes that they’re able to add the Frost Realm…and I’m not just saying that because its mechanics sound very similar to those affecting a certain part of the continent in Serpent Isle.

For the King is also on Steam Greenlight now, and has even been getting a bit of coverage in the mainstream gaming press…finally, I would add.

At any rate, congratulations to the IronOak team! Reaching a Kickstarter target, even a modest one, in a day is no easy feat, but the creators of For The King sure made it look that way.
