Check Out Balron Dragon’s “Knights of Legend” Fan Fiction
Knights of Legend was a one-off RPG released by Origin Systems in 1989. It wasn’t the most highly-rated Origin title, but it did introduce the character of Seggallion, who later appeared in Ultima 6.
Anyhow, Balron Dragon has been writing a fan fiction based on Knights of Legend. Here’s his description of the work:
The land of Ashtellaria, ruled by dwarves and quarreled over by men has just recovered from a brutal war only to be thrust right back into another. Seggallion, a knight of legend, has gone missing after his descent into a dark tower. As if that wasn’t enough, the Duke Fuquan of Brettle, leader of men and a just ruler from lands east of Ashtellaria is now missing as well. Such is the state of the kingdom that it has dwarves retreating to their mountain fortresses, nobles concealing themselves in their castles, and people sheltering behind the walls of their towns and cities. Powerful highwaymen and armored guardsmen from the greatest city in the land, Shellernoon, keep watch over a glowing tower, ripe with magic that seems to be the source of their troubles. There is a call to Action! The land of Ashtellaria could use some new knights of legend. Mystical elves, superstitious dwarves, dark knights, beastmen and classic fantasy monsters make up the tale of this potentially great epic. Based on the classic game created by David Porter of the late “Origin Games” company.
He has set an ambitious goal for himself: 75,000 words. Thus far, he has only written around 6,700 words, and the average reader could probably get through his work to date in half an hour.
Still, you might consider following his progress as he continues to work his way through creating the book.
