Sylph: Project Miyaji: Check Out the SA-08 Starfighter
Kevin Fishburne has been hard at work on the SA-08, the mainstay starfighter of his upcoming SHMUP for Linux, Sylph: Project Miyaji. This has mostly taken the form of work in Blender:

The SA-08's stabilizers are finished and the fuselage is prepped for a callsign. What would be appropriate? #gamedev pic.twitter.com/je60OwiI5l

SA-08 fuselage has been textured. I see now why studios have dedicated personnel for this. #Sylph #gamedev #indiegame pic.twitter.com/iYoRU9DhAV

However, some of his work has concentrated on the implementation of the ship in-game. In particular, he has put some work into the damage the ship takes:

And most recently, he cleaned up the canopy on the 3D model a bit:

I can probably count the number of SHMUPs I’ve played on one hand, but I have to say that I think I might just have to give Sylph: Project Miyaji a spin during one of its future pre-alpha tests.
