The Dark Unknown: Gremlins Implemented
Goldenflame Dragon, earlier this month, went there…oh, he went there:
I just added that most annoying of Ultima critters- Gremlins. It was the only monster graphic I had that I hadn’t used yet. They steal food, as you might expect. Of course, since Dark Unknown doesn’t _track_ food, this is actually of minimal inconvenience.
More recently, he troubleshot an issue with the game’s sound effects, which was causing them not to play in Firefox. Or, rather, he diagnosed that Firefox was itself the issue, concluding thusly:
this is why I regret hitching my wagon to the browser. The Unity port idea is looking better and better.
Not all was woe, though:
Anyway, working on loading the game. Code’s all written in theory, now it’s down to bug testing it. After this, tablet UI and character creation. Which, I’ve realized, maybe needs its own music?
More recently, he’s been squashing bugs in the game’s code…and continuing to work on the save/load system, of course.
Gremlins are surely one of the devil’s favored pets, but I hated snakes more than anything else. Being poisoned was like having all your food taken in one go. I think spiders did the same thing in V.
