The Dark Unknown: New Graphics and Palettes
No sooner do I report on Goldenflame’s lastest progress on The Dark Unknown and he goes ahead and posts another update to the game’s Facebook page:
New graphics, three palette swapped versions of essentially the same animation for Lurker, Corpser, and Fluke.
Also, do you know what’s tedious? Statting monsters. It’s tedious. It’s also my current project.
Lurkers and corpsers, e? Boy, do I so not look forward to encountering those in-game.
Good work, as always. Lurkers were my fav in Ultima Underworld. Not sure why, but since childhood I’ve been fascinated by creepy things in the water.
I know what you mean about statting. I love programming the logic and systems that comprise an engine, but when it comes to populating it with everything required to make an actual game it starts to feel more like work. Still more fun than actual work, but you know what I mean.
