The Dark Unknown: NPCs Can Have Multiple Conversation Trees Now

Short but significant news from Goldenflame Dragon:

Tonight: set it up so that a given NPC can have more than one entire conversation tree based on game flags being set (this in addition to what I already had, which allows individual responses to be alterable based on flags like whether you’ve already done a quest).

This is a fairly significant development, as it enables the creation of more complex plots…and characters, for that matter, in addition to giving Goldenflame the option of adding a high level of dynamism to the world of The Dark Unknown.

    Good stuff. Any new feature that elicits additional creativity from the player or the developer (preferably both!) is awesome. You could be talking to Iolo about improvising bolt designs from old spoons one moment and the finer points of Dupre falling over sideways in full plate the next with responses based on which NPCs you’d talked to before.
