A brief update was posted to the official Ultima Forever forums today, concerning the hotfix that has been applied to the game’s live servers (and which should be downloaded the next time you log in to the game):

As some of you have noticed this afternoon, we’ve pushed some new data onto the Live Servers. (This ended not too long ago; I’ve been waiting for all the relevant files to upload before posting here)

(Those of you who’ve encountered some patching difficulty this afternoon may have had trouble because you patched during our uploading of the files. Ultimately, if you keep trying, you SHOULD be able to patch completely. If you continue to have difficulty, close out of the app completely, and re-launch.)

Unfortunately, this isn’t the much-anticipated Live Update #1 that everyone (including us!) is waiting for.

The content in today’s push incorporates some Halloween-themed Vanity items. These items may be obtained (on a random basis, of course) by using Gold Keys on City/Town chests ONLY.

The reasons that we’re able to get this content on Live are:

A) This content has been worked on independently of the Live Update #1 content
B) This content does not require certification (internal, or otherwise)

There aren’t any screenshots available at this time, but hopefully this update involves a pumpkin I can wear as a helmet. I mean, that’s pretty much a necessity, right?
