Extra Life Update: Many Thanks, Team Vas Mani Needs You
The sidebar widget tells the tale: I’m just $40 short of my personal Extra Life goal this year. With over a month to go, this is good; I should make the goal easily and handily. As such, I’d like to take a moment to personally thank Rustic Dragon, Fenyx4, Browncoat Jayson, Jonas Lee, and Torin Dragon for their contributions to Extra Life; your donations are much-appreciated, and will go to help children battling all manner of diseases and conditions.
Of course, though my personal goal is looking close enough at hand, the Vas Mani team’s goal is looking a little less tangible at present. Worse still is the Vas Mani roster, which is still comprised of…just me.
So…does anyone want to join? The idea here is that on November 2nd, you’ll play video games for 25 hours (or, at least, for as many hours out of those 25 as you are able to), and prior to that date you collect pledges to support said marathon. It’s kind of like one of those “run for the cure” events, except instead of running…well, you get the idea.
And since this is a team of Origin Systems fans…it’s only to be expected that some classic Origin games will be played over the course of the event! This being the era of the Google+ hangout, it is even feasible that some or all of the Vas Mani team (assumimg more people join it than just me) could hold a 25-hour hangout in which we all screencase what we’re playing!
So…if you’ve been thinking about it, now is a great time to sign up for Extra Life. Because it’s just not right that Vas Mani is so small a team; there should be a few of us, at least, to carry the banner of Origin Systems’ memory on the 2nd of November.
