There are a lot of things wrong with me, and maybe this is just one more, but despite having clothes on I think there remains a pervasive misunderstanding of how “medieval” women displayed themselves in public. The “hotness” is in what was not shown, as in one’s imagination of what lies beneath. Women didn’t even wear their hair down as that was considered sexually provocative. Skirts? Yeah, tons of those in 13XX. Sigh…
What a ugly and lame-looking player character. I hope you can customize your character’s look.
Why the comic book style bow? I guess this time ’round David Watson isn’t around?
Also I don’t mind the otherwise obvious attempt at realism. Why take the effort to program bread baking only to have WoW type armour?
I (and every female poster) tried to argue for pants in the SOTA dev forums, and I thought that we had convinced the artist to alter it, but since they’ve gone public with this version I guess not. My wife saw this and it turned her off the game a bit, something that I expect will happen many more times.
Apart from that, I like the realistic style they are taking with the game. I always preferred that realism in Ultima to the cartoony styles of other games like Final Fantasy.
