Earlier in the week, Ken Levine teased that Irrational Games had some big news coming up, which most people interpreted as meaning that a new piece of DLC was to be announced. And to be fair, such speculations weren’t wrong…Irrational Games announced two new pieces of DLC for BioShock Infinite. The first, an arena-combat add-on entitled Clash in the Clouds, is already available (here…save a dollar on it). The second, Burial at Sea, is apparently set in the underwater city of Rapture from the first game, and in fact takes place just prior to the downfall thereof.
Got all that? RPGWatch has a quick recap of all the news, which also features a video of an interview with Ken Levine. Who, by the way, cites Logan’s Run as the inspiration for almost the entirety of his career.
Also: BioShock Infinite has sold over 4 million copies to date. Runic Games’ Torchlight 2, meanwhile, has sold over 2 million copies. And Cryptic Studios’ Neverwinter evidently now serves more than 2 million players. Successful games abound!
(By the way: Raptr is doing some sort of Neverwinter-related contest. There are prizes.)
Limbic Entertainment have continued to update the Might & Magic X blog over the past week, the most significant update to which is probably this summary of how skills and blessings have been implemented in the game.
Guido Henkel teased a few elements of Deathfire’s story recently; the plot of the game evidently involves a cross between zombies and pod people. Yeah.
And for what it’s worth, the Deus Ex movie will evidently be trying to not be a video game movie, but will instead try and be its own (cyberpunk) movie (whatever that means).
If I were to make a Deus Ex movie, it would have to have a touch of Masamune Shirow. A detailed technical work involving the anatomy of future machines and what’s left of our culture and biological humanity.
