Bethesda Thursdays
Who doesn’t love Skyrim mods? Well, maybe the people making them, after a while…modding isn’t everyone’s game, after all. But for at least one teenager, it was a year-long passion that resulted in the creation of a truly epic mod — entitled Falskaar — for Bethesda Game Studios’ most recent open-world fantasy RPG. And it was also something more: a job application.
I don’t know about all of you, but I’m rooting for the guy. Very cool; I hope he gets a job out of it.
Speaking of Skyrim mods, this one adds various powers from Dishonored to Skyrim. That’s a fairly clever mash-up, if I do say so myself.
And speaking in turn of Dishonored, there’s more DLC coming for the game. The next add-on will be entitled The Brigmore Witches, is slated for an August 13th release, and will continue the story of the single-player side of the game right from where the initial plot ended. Of course, if you’re attending QuakeCon, you can get a look at it before it comes out.
Okay…I’ve run out of segues.
The developers at Zenimax Online have published an “Ask Us Anything” post concerning dungeons in the upcoming MMORPG. IGN also managed to catch up with Matt Firor for a brief interview recently.
And Bethesda Softworks gave a definite maybe on the subject of supporting the Wii U in their future games. Which is…better, I suppose, than the stances taken by some other publishers, but still not great news for Nintendo.
If the kid’s lucky, they’ll let him work in QA. Which might sound demeaning, but it is where Todd Howard started from.
So did Starr Long, for that matter.
