Shroud of the Avatar: Team Standup, June 3, 2013

A transcript of the latest “team standup” — essentially, all-hands-on-deck progress report meetings held at Portalarium — has been posted to the official Shroud of the Avatar forums.

Here’s the basic summary:

  • Bob Cooksey is working on prop and house models.
  • Dallas Snell (yes) is working on getting payment plans set up and running.
  • Chris Spears is trying to get final signoff on various things.
  • Nathan Howard is working on rigging, and working on the team’s IT needs.
  • Richard Garriott is reveiwing newly-created maps and will be giving feedback to the developers. He is also doing daily playtests of the demo the team are putting together for next month’s Rooster Teeth demo.
  • Rick Holtrop is onboarding new staff and dealing with customer correspondence.
  • Scott Jones is working on texturing.
  • Michael Hutchison is working on the mod-kit for dungeons.
  • Stephen Daniele is finishing up work on the tavern concept art, as well as several other pieces of art for public buildings. His next task will be concept work for the crowdsourcing guide that Portalarium will be releasing.
  • Bren Wilson is working on animations.
  • Isaac Oster is working on character art.
  • Geoff Mellon has been working on player avatars, and has evidently been focusing on clothing and kill animations.
  • Eric Touve is working on client-side patching and build processing.
  • Jason Yenawine is also working on client-side development.
  • Scott Jennings is working on the private developer forums.
  • Tassilo Philipp is assisting Dallas Snell with his work on the payment system.

Two new developers have joined the team at Portalarium: Bren Wilson and Isaac Oster. (Bren was actually a Portalarium employee previously, and has rejoined the team.) Geoff Mellon is similarly new to the group.

As well, the team have a lot of art and maps to create in advance of the Rooster Teeth demo next month, and the demo will likely stick to a fairly tight path through the game’s world as a result.

Oh, and: player avatars now have clothing to wear!

Nice. Sounds like a shit load of Getting Things Done. Just hoping those things are good.
