Ex-Interplay Fridays
The human interview machine known as Brian Fargo has had a busy week, having given interviews to EDGE, GamesIndustry, and GameFront. Naturally, Wasteland 2 and Torment: Tides of Numenera dominate much of each piece, although we do also get some glimpses at Fargo’s history as a developer and gaming innovator.
There’s also a new-ish Q&A video on the Torment Tumblr blog.
The Wasteland 2 Kickstarter page was updated with some information about the development milestones the team at inXile Entertainment have achieved, and some of the weapons in the game have also been detailed. As well, another call for community-submitted Unity assets has been put out.
The latest Torment: Tides of Numenera update reveals — unless this was already well-known, although I didn’t know it myself — that erotica novelist Shanna Germain is evidently working as an editor on the Numenera project, and as a writer on Torment as well. It also gives some news as to where that project is in its development.
Meanwhile, the latest Project Eternity update gives us a look at town and monster concepts, and — yes — some updates on where development is at.
She’s the editor of the Numenera setting. In Torment she’ll just be another writer, as far as I know. Torment’s editor is Ray Vallese.
Yes, that’s correct. I’m the lead editor of the Numenera product line and I will be writing for the Torment game as well. Ray’s also working with us on Numenera, so it’s a team that I’m incredibly excited about.
Ah, well, I stand corrected then. As shall the article presently.
