BioWare Tuesdays
I missed posting this link last week, but it’s Massively’s interview with Star Wars: The Old Republic’s producer, Jeff Hickman, who gave his thoughts on the state of the game. More currently, Massively have offered their thoughts on Rise of the Hutt Cartel, the upcoming expansion pack for SWTOR, and argue that it makes the game a whole lot better.
BioWare Austin, for their part, have published some new details on Legacy achievements, shown off parts of the new planet the expansion introduces, Makeb, detailed its new PvP “bolster” system, and given us a look at some of the new NPCs that will influence its plot.
Kotaku have kicked off “Mass Effect Week”, and have begun posting a goodly number of articles about the series, including an profile of one of its artists, some thoughts on an early — and evidently lackluster — preview build of the game, comments on the beauty of the various worlds the game has you visit, some thoughts from Drew Karpyshyn on where the series succeeded and failed, the series’ more mature content, and various other tributes. Expect more of these all week long.
Polygon, meanwhile, have an article up in which the assertion is made and defended that Mass Effect’s combat helped support its narrative themes.
And it has once again been confirmed that BioWare will be using the Frostbite 3 engine to developed both the next Mass Effect and Dragon Age 3. But if you’re a regular reader of these little featurettes I prepare, you already knew that.
