Obsidian Fridays
Infinitron Dragon alerted me to the existence of a Facebook page for Torment: Tides of Numenera, which is evidently the working title of inXile Entertainment’s spiritual successor to Planescape: Torment. There’s not a great wealth of news posted to the page as yet, although it has been revealed that Mark Morgan will be returning to compose the soundtrack for the new game.
Brian Fargo sat down for an interview with the Wasteland Chronicles, a Russian fansite. One interesting tidbit from the interview concerns the various industry veterans and game development companies that got their start doing work for Fargo. Blizzard, BioWare, and others all merit a mention. Additionally, expect a Wasteland 2 gameplay video next week. Chris Avellone, evidently, approves.
Earlier this week, GOG added inXile’s remake of The Bard’s Tale to their catalogue. And GameBanshee has named Wasteland 2 their most-anticipated RPG of 2013.
Maybe you need to change the name of this feature to “Ex-Interplay Fridays”.
That is…not a bad idea.
Well if you want some actual Obsidian news, they’re releasing weekly updates on the Project Eternity forums.
This week they put out some concept art of an Orlan, one of the new playable races in the game. Plus talked about designing gods.

There’s actually been some really interesting stuff in previous updates too – a lot of insight into developing a brand new RPG setting.
Hmm…right, I should just loop in whatever they post to e.g. the Kickstarter page. If I can find time tonight, I’ll loop back and add those details.
