BioWare Mondays
The wait is nearly over for the next piece of single-player DLC for Mass Effect 3, and BioWare have released a shiny new trailer for Omega that we can all take a moment to ogle. And for the even-more-curious, GameBanshee has a whole pile of new screenshots from the DLC that are worth checking out.
A new alternate appearance pack for the single-player side of the game was also released recently, for those who feel the selection of appearance options for the squadmates the game furnishes them with just isn’t enough.
And the Special Edition of Mass Effect 3 is now available for the Wii U. Both Eurogamer and Kotaku have published face-off articles comparing the game’s look and performance on the Wii U to that of the Xbox and PlayStation 3, and it would seem that for the console crowd, the Xbox version remains the best option.
Oh, and Casey Hudson is curious as to whether the next Mass Effect game should be set before or after the current series. Your feedback on this matter is welcomed.
Also, this is cool: a quadriplegic soloed ME3’s multiplayer and reached the Bronze tier (no easy feat in and of itself). And then, having suitably warmed up, he soloed the Silver tier as well.
Gameranx has listed Dragon Age 3 as one of their most-anticipated games of next year. And since that’s a brutally jarring topic shift, here is some really quite excellent fan art that renders characters from the Mass Effect universe as citizens of the Dragon Age universe.
The debate over whether Star Wars: The Old Republic’s free-to-play option sucks or not continues to rage, although I think the “sucks” outnumber the “nots” by a fair margin. (In the spirit of disclosure, I’ll note that the rather harsh limits imposed by the current free-to-play model that SWTOR uses have kept me from reinstalling the game.) Still, maybe the upcoming update 1.6 will bring some changes to the model that make it a more attractive proposition.
And if not, there are other games.
