Bethesda Thursdays
Bethesda may not have released exact sales figures for Arkane Studios’ Dishonored, but they certainly seem pleased with how the game has performed in the market. As in: “we clearly have a new franchise” levels of pleased. So I suppose congratulations are in order for Arkane Studios’ knocking one out of the park. Hooray for open-ended gameplay (and absurd levels of violence)!
The Dunwall City Trials DLC is still slated for a December 11 release date, by the way, in case you wanted to add some arena combat to your stealth-stabbity gaming experience. And Arkane Studios is also looking for a lead programmer at their Austin studio.
Zero1Gaming managed to score a preview of Dragonborn, the upcoming (if currently Xbox-only) DLC for Skyrim. OXM, meanwhile, has put together a wishlist of sorts for the DLC, discussing places they would like to be able to visit…or re-visit, at the case may be.
GameBanshee have updated a bunch of their Skyrim-related content, as well. And by the Virtues, but Skyrim looks utterly amazing when fully tricked out with the best of what fan mods are available for it. (This cosplay isn’t bad either, although to be fair it seems more Braveheart than Skyrim to my eyes.)
The more philosophically-minded reader will also want to have a read of Jordan Rivas’ article about Skyrim and self-deception.
RPGSite caught up with The Elder Scrolls Online’s creative director, Paul Sage, for a bit of a chat last week. And MMORPG.com has a feature up about the history of Tamriel, the game’s setting. Meanwhile, the game’s developers have continued the Q&A session that they began…recently, answering more questions about factions in The Elder Scrolls Online.
Gameranx has listed The Elder Scrolls Online amongst its ten most-anticipated games of 2013. Of course, they did that with Dragon Age 3 as well, and that game isn’t coming out in 2013 anymore; let’s hope that wasn’t the start of a trend.
Finally, as has become the norm, there has been another update from the OpenMW team. As usual, they seem to be making good progress; Zini (from the Titans of Ether) has evidently been occupied with dialogue filters lately.
